The Troy Savings Bank Charitable Foundation Board of Directors today
announced the appointment of Jenna Cuilla as Executive Director, effective May 5. She
replaces Leslie Cheu, who is retiring after 24 years of service to the Foundation.
Ms. Cuilla previously was Director, Advancement Operations and Communications for
the Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region, where she served since
2010. Before that, she was Assistant Director of Annual Giving at The Sage Colleges,
where she earned Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jenna and look forward to supporting her in her stewardship
of the Foundation,” said Sheila Mendleson, President of the Troy Savings Bank
Charitable Foundation Board of Directors. “She has a deep understanding of the Capital
Region and its nonprofit and philanthropic community, and we were delighted when she
accepted the opportunity to join us. We know she will build on the outstanding service
and leadership Leslie Cheu has provided throughout her tenure. Our community is
stronger because of Leslie, and we cannot thank her enough for her service.”
“The Troy Savings Bank Charitable Foundation has long set a standard of excellence
for nonprofit leadership in our community, and I am excited to work with the Board of
Directors and staff to keep building its legacy,” Ms. Cuilla said. “Now more than ever,
private, community-focused foundations like ours play an essential role in helping
nonprofit organizations fill critical funding gaps and provide needed services. Our deep
understanding of the community helps us be nimble and targeted in deploying our
resources, and that in turn helps to ensure that we are helping those who need it most.”
“The Board of Directors made an excellent choice when they selected Jenna to be our
next Executive Director. Her skills and experience locally are invaluable. I know she will
do a fine job, and I can only hope she finds the experience to be as personally
rewarding as I have over nearly 24 years,” Ms. Cheu said. “
The Troy Savings Bank Charitable Foundation focuses its giving in the areas of
community development, youth development, and arts and culture. It has distributed
more than $18 million to nonprofits in these program areas since 1999.
